The Manufacturing Systems Engineer role is part of the Abiomed global manufacturing team. This role will develop and support the manufacturing systems used to manufacture Abiomed products. This is a dynamic role that will provide exposure to the entire manufacturing process. The ideal candidate would have exposure to both manufacturing process and some programming language/systems experience. The primary function for the initial period will be configuring process flow models within our MES system to transform our manufacturing lines from paper based to computer based inputs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work on cross-functional core team for MES system. Translate manufacturing needs into process models within MES system.
Work with manufacturing to test models and make iterative changes to the model.
Construct documentation for system model
Perform first level support for MES applications. Work with internal and external resources to escalate issues
Lead or participate in other projects to drive additional efficiency in the manufacturing process
Skills/Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Computer Information Systems, Manufacturing or Engineering required
3+ years of experience with manufacturing systems
General programming experience a plus
MES configuration experience a plus
Technical aptitude; ability to learn new systems and information quickly
Understanding/Experience of manufacturing process.
Medical device and Lean experience a plus.
Self-starter; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
