The goal of this position is to enhance Abiomed’s current external financial reporting, technical accounting and internal controls processes. He/she will maintain compliance within these areas and build scalability needed to support our rapidly growing business. The selected individual will report to the Director of Financial Reporting.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, Annual Proxy Statement, 11-Ks, SD, and Section 16 filings.
Work closely and effectively with external auditors to coordinate requests for our integrated financial statement audit and quarterly reviews.
Conduct and document technical accounting research of non-routine accounting transactions to conclude on the appropriate application of U.S. GAAP requirements.
Coordination of the Company’s assessment of the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting to address Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Perform walkthroughs and documentation over each key business process.
Perform regular reviews of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in order to ensure continuous improvement.
Participate in financial close processes and analysis, including revenue recognition transactions and assist in the Company’s monthly revenue testing and determination of proper revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.
Support the Company’s enterprise risk assessment process and other projects as required.
Skills/Requirements
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Big 4 public accounting experience required
3+ years of relevant experience
Experienced in SEC, PCAOB, US GAAP, US GAAS, and other authoritative standards and regulations and complex accounting and financial reporting topics
