The Total Rewards Manager provides day-to-day support to HR partners, management, and client groups on various compensation and benefit matters including base pay, bonus, equity administration, benefit review and compliance, along with other projects. Excellent technical skills and presentation skills are critical to the position as is the ability to collaborate. Must be able to prioritize work effectively. Prior experience in SAP Successfactors or other HCM systems is highly desirable.

Compensation responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance to HRBPs and Managers regarding a variety of compensation issues.
  • Responds to questions regarding compensation philosophy, grade level, salary range, current salary, increase amounts, the performance appraisal process and other related compensation policies and procedures. Leverages HR Business Partners where appropriate.
  • Works with Director of HR Operations to execute the annual review and compensation cycle.
  • Provides on-going instruction and training on the use of related compensation tools.
  • Owns the compensation survey process; ensures market match validations are accurate, compiles and submits data to vendors, analyzes and summarizes results and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Administers Abiomed’s salary programs; reviews changes in salaries, job descriptions and position levels for conformance to policy.
  • Performs market pricing, researches internal equity and makes recommendations based on analysis results.
  • Conducts job evaluations for new and revised descriptions to determine appropriate job grade. Determines FLSA status and maintains appropriate documentation. 

Benefit responsibilities:

  • Works with Director of HR Operations on a variety of benefit related projects including plan design, analysis, budgeting and implementation of new programs.
  • Researches and recommends employee benefit programs by researching trends and participating in surveys both external and internal.
  • Designs materials for communicating new plans and/or plan design changes to employees.
  • Ensures compliance with legal and legislative changes for leave program policies, procedures, plan documents, and benefit summaries.
  • Serves as a back-up for New Hire Orientation to advise on benefit eligibility, plan provisions and options.
  • Drives best practices around improving and streamline HR benefit-related programs and processes.

Other:

  • Create and maintain “People & Organization” dashboard analytics.
  • Work together with HR Operations Specialist to ensure pay & benefits are appropriately administered and that efficient processes are in place
  • Other HR related projects as assigned.




Skills/Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area such as Business, Human Resources or similar field. 
  • Professional certification a plus, but not required.
  • 6 - 8 years’ compensation and benefits experience and benefits
  • Experience organizing and analyzing data into actionable conclusions and recommendations in a clear, concise, and easily understandable manner.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Detail oriented with emphasis on accuracy, coupled with the ability to see the broader corporate picture.
  • Strong knowledge relevant laws and regulations in the US and outside the US is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of internal job evaluation systems and external market pricing practices.
  • Must be solution driven, flexible, proactive, responsive and customer-focused.
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Advanced Excel skills including ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables and summarize data from multiple sources. 
  • Experience with HCM systems such as SAP Successfactors
