POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Paralegal position is ideal for a self-starter with exceptional organization and multi-tasking skills.  The selected individual will play a vital role both managing and executing the legal team’s critical activities, and will have a high energy and collaborative style.

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

  • Manage administrative aspects of corporate governance, including minutes, contract creation and management
  • Maintain and update relevant legal binders, meeting minutes, spreadsheets, filing
  • Oversight of the patent award program
  • Research, compile, summarize, and analyze information to make decisions, find answers, and respond to various inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Assist with research, special projects, and business development initiatives as appropriate
  • Composes, proofreads and edits correspondence, presentations and other documents
  • Manage expense reporting, process vendor invoices, and support annual budget process.
  • Maintain schedules and calendars; Schedule legal meetings and appointments
  • Conduct legal research and collate information
  • Analyze and organize information to produce reports
  • Delivers exceptional service support to internal and external customers
  • Provide other assistance as requested by attorneys




Skills/Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree
  • 4+ years experience in a Paralegal position, preferably at a public corporation
  • Proficiency with the MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) applications.
  • Exceptional written and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with creative problem solving ability
  • Effectively manage the legal filing system
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently to identify, analyze, and solve problems with creative solutions
  • Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters confidentially, expeditiously, proactively and follows through on tasks until successful completion
  • Skilled and experienced in the art of organization and time management to juggle multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Solid judgment, tact, and diplomacy skills in dealing with internal and external customers as well the ability to handle highly confidential and proprietary information.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to last-minute changes while maintaining poise and a positive “can do” attitude
