Job Description

The Logistics Support personnel will assist in multiple areas within the Operations department.  The daily tasks will range from performing Shipper/Receiver duties, PTO clerk and Quality Inspection.  These duties include receiving and verifying in-coming material and supplies.  Prepare and ships finished product to customers and field support.  Picking material and kitting product to build finished goods.  Perform quality checks and inspection on purchased material, partially assembled or finished medical devices.  Review of quality documents and provide support as needed to the Operations group.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, unpack and warehouse in-coming materials and supplies.
  • Check in-coming goods against documentation.
  • Sort and count materials, supplies and finished goods as needed.
  • Make entries into inventory database, prepare periodic reports.
  • May perform kitting, labeling or other duties prior to shipping products.
  • Prepare necessary documents for shipping goods.
  • May be required to operate a forklift or other loading/stacking heavy equipment.
  • Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company product according to well-defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
  • Accurately document the results of inspections and testing.
  • Perform data entry into associated data systems. SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to the supervisor.




Skills/Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-2 years of shipping/receiving experience in a high volume setting, medical device experience preferred.
  • Have excellent communication & customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to utilize basic math skills.
  • Willingness to work late and on weekends as required and requested.
  • Have a valid drivers license as on occasion driving to the FEDEX depot will be necessary.
  • 1-2 years experience in quality inspection preferred. Medical device experience preferred.
  • Ability to use inspection gages and electrical test equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge in ISO and GMP. US FDA 21 CFR QSR and ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to follow SOPs and manufacturing and inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen and ocntinuous improvement initiatives a plus.
  • Ability to execute tasks in a timely manner under general supervision.
  • Computer literacy required, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, MRP system; SAP knowledge desired.

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, knwwl, crouch and crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
