Job Description

The Middle School Counseling Administrative Assistant provides general clerical support, ensuring the efficiency of the Middle School Counseling Office. He/she will serve as a member of the Middle School team and works under the supervision of the Middle School Principal.

Primary Responsibilities:

?      Responds to telephone inquiries concerning general guidance counseling activities

?      Assists in planning and scheduling department activities; maintains department/office records and fiscal information for control purposes, such as student and employee databases, transcripts, correspondence, tests, advisory certificates and probation reports

?      Prepares survey to gather statistical data for counseling office

?      Prepares school profile and other counseling office duties including, but not limited to, confidential memoranda, exams, class outlines, reports, schedules, and letters

?      Organizes and maintains internal records and filing systems

?      Prepares agendas; schedules facilities; records and prepares minutes

?      Handles sensitive and confidential student records information

?      Assists school counselors in establishing and maintaining student records

?      Compiles, records and updates routine reports as necessary

Schoolwide Responsibilities:

?      Take on other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Required Qualifications:

?      Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

?      Exceptional English speaking skills

?      Full understanding and support of the school's philosophy

?      Prior experience in an educational setting preferred

Terms of Employment:

This position is classified as a support staff position and reports to the Elementary School Principal. General working hours are from 7:45 am - 3:45 pm, Monday through Thursday and 7:45 am - 12:45 pm (on site) & 2:30 pm - 3:45 pm (remote) on Fridays. An annual limited period contract will be issued stipulating 196 working days within the year, as per the school’s published calendar.
