About American School of Dubai

The American School of Dubai is a not-for-profit school founded by Dubai Petroleum Company in September 1966 to provide schooling for the children of its expatriate personnel from the United States. Children of other contract companies were also invited to attend the school. The school opened in an apartment with 11 students and two teachers.

Today current enrollment stands at over 1600 students, K1-Grade 12. Our diverse and flourishing student body consists of 63 nationalities. Approximately 76% of the students are North American.

The campus is divided into four separate school divisions: early elementary, upper elementary, middle school and high school. A Principal and one or two Associate Principals head each of these school divisions.

The facility has its own auditorium, a block box theater, field house, running tracks, regulation soccer field, other large playing fields, separate elementary and secondary gyms, two swimming pools, elementary play areas, secondary and elementary school libraries, two cafeterias, music rooms and meeting spaces. Spacious classrooms have state of the art equipment to support technology integration, projectors and wireless access.
The campus covers over 92,900 square meters, (1,000,000 square feet).
