Job Description

Octo Consulting Group is seeking an Agile Developer to join our growing team in Washington, DC. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts design and development of software, determination of interfaces, and technical feasibility analysis.
  • Coordinates and performs requirements and implementation analysis, design, development, testing and enhancement of application software.
  • Develops, modifying or configuring moderately complex software applications from detailed specifications.
  • Experience working on most phases of applications programming activities, independent of supervisory guidance.
  • Work in a collaborative environment to review current systems and present ideas for system improvements. 




Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of applicable Software Engineering work experience required.
  • Understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in Software Engineering. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Experience in .Net, C#, Spring, Oracle, MongoDB, GIT – Modern

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with delivering unique complex DHS systems to the US Government 
  • Good oral and written communications skills with experience in delivering/presenting to customer 
  • Experience with SAFe or Agile Scrum processes.
  • Other related experience with fielded systems and mission/system operations along with system sustainment for high system availability requirements 

Educaton:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required.

Location:

  • Arlington, VA

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
  • Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time

 Work Environment:

  • Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area
  • The noise level in this environment is low to moderate
