Job Description

Basic Function:

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules. Also responsible for contributing to the maintenance of the General Ledger, Fixed Asset, Accounts Payable and Cash Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


• Prepare and post monthly journal entries per close schedule
• Balance sheet and income statement account analysis
• Maintenance of fixed asset database
• Daily cash management reconciliations
• Accounts payable invoice processing
• Support finance department with other various projects, tasks as necessary
 

 

 

 

Skills/Requirements

Process Management:

  • Prepares for and performs month-end and quarterly closes
  • Conducts month-to-month financial comparisons ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Works on assigned accounts by reviewing account activity, processing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
  • Investigates discrepancies in accounts

Demonstrates Business Acumen:

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding and knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to identify operating versus capital expenditures
  • Uses analytical ability to identify inaccurate data in financial records
  • Exhibits a basic understanding of the Company’s business model
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of the Company’s financial database systems

Level of Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with Oracle Finance Systems and Essbase a plus

Working Conditions & Physicial Demands: Office Environment working with a personal computer for extended periods of time.
