Overview: 

The Email Marketing Coordinator helps Prison Fellowship communicate the importance and impact of our work to our supporters. Part of the front-lines of audience communication, this position is responsible for working with the marketing team and ministry programs to create timely, impactful, well-crafted email communications, creating personalized experiences for Prison Fellowship audiences through marketing automation, and joining the larger audience conversation by providing support to our social media specialist. Requires skills in copywriting, basic data management, and basic data/results analysis.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Email Marketing: The front lines of audience communication. Help Prison Fellowship communicate the importance and impact of our work to our supporters. Collaborate with the marketing team and ministry programs to create timely, impactful, well-crafted email communications.
  • Automation: Creating personalized, engaging experiences for Prison Fellowship audiences through marketing automation. Utilizing a marketing automation platform (Marketo) this position will setup unique paths and communication streams - with personalized messages - optimizing and fine-tuning pathways and messaging to create the type of brand communications people want to receive.
  • Social Media Support: Join in the larger conversation. Support our social media specialist sharing stories of hope, breaking news, and other topics of interest through our social media channels. Get to know our supporters by responding to comments and encouraging their engagement through likes and shares.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Minimum years of relevant experience:  1-3 years

Education:  Bachelor’s or associate degree in marketing, communications, or other digital related fields.

Knowledge Areas: Writing, Email marketing principles, user journey principles, UX fundamentals

Computer/Technology Skills:  Experience using marketing automation platforms (Marketo [preferred], Pardot, or Hubspot). Experience using a CRM system (Salesforce preferred). Basic Photoshop skills. Experience testing and troubleshooting in multiple browsers or email clients. Basic HTML. MS Office. Knowledge of Marketo and SalesForce a big plus.

Communication Skills:  Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Demonstrated writing skills to include editing. Ability to work independently with minimal direction, while also functioning and contributing as part of a team.

Percentage of travel required:  <5%

Other Skills:  Attention to detail a must. Strong analytical mindset and an ability to analyze email and testing results. Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, interpret needs, and develop creative solutions. Ability to implement and track multiple projects. Ability to network and collaborate with others. Strong content editing skills.
