Cayman Chemical Company is a biomedical research company based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Cayman helps make research possible by supplying scientists worldwide with biochemical tools used to understand cancer, neurochemistry, oxidative injury, endocrinology, atherosclerosis, and other human health challenges. We specialize in assay kits for the measurement of hormones and bio-markers. In addition, Cayman offers a broad range of specialty biochemicals used as research reagents and qualified standards. Cayman performs generic drug development and production in both Ann Arbor, Michigan and Neratovice, Czech Republic.

We are currently seeking candidates for a Quality Assurance Assistant with the key duties and skills listed below:

  • Ensures any products that are not qualified internally have batch-specific data provided by the supplier
  • Manages vendor data, assuring it is stored for easy retrieval by Tech Support and others
  • Reviews vendor data to ensure all purchased products meet Cayman specifications
  • Visually inspects materials prior to testing and approval
  • Scans, attaches, and enters all data into Quality Orders to generate certificates of analysis
  • Works cooperatively with Tech Support and QC manager when responding to technical/quality inquiries regarding purchased products
  • Corresponds with suppliers to obtain analytical testing data and certificates of analysis
  • Communicates with receiving, QC, and inventory to manage the handoff of materials between groups
  • May prepare test samples for QC and NMR analysis

Skills & Requirements

  • BS in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field)
  • 1-3 years of laboratory or QA experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Dynamics AX or similar
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
