About the Position

Position is primarily responsible for washing, sorting and counting linens associated with corporate laundry procedures, documenting services rendered, delivering items to floors and residents, meeting daily production schedules, and delivering laundry between Goodwin Living communities on weekends.

This position requires hours of 7am-3pm with shifts every other Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Job Duties

• Assists with sorting linens received from both Goodwin Living communities in preparation for washing.

• Folds, prepares, and counts clean linens for transportation to Goodwin House Alexandria and restocking for Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads.

• Assists with and delivers personal laundry for residents of Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads as assigned.

• Must alert Human Resources or the Department Director of any change in driving record, including but not limited to accidents and tickets for traffic violations.

• Loads and unloads trucks, following proper lifting techniques.

Job Requirements 

• Previous laundry experience preferred.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

• Must be knowledgeable of laundry practices, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to health care facilities.

• Must possess ability to deal tactfully with residents and staff.

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English required.
