Job Description

As the Distribution Specialist, you will underwrite, manage and administer contracts for our distribution partners. You will analyze premiums and production data to pay agent commissions and other forms of agent compensation. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Underwrites, manages and administers contracts for GuideOne distributions partners. Collects and evaluates additional data to complete the agent contracting process.
  • Supports, administers and maintains the agency information on the mainframe system. This includes mentoring, training and educating additional departments of how to read and use the Agent Master System.
  • Distribution Specialist is key point of contact for our new agents for licensing, contracting and compensation.
  • Responsible for managing license verification process for region after initial process completed by Sales Operations Assistant.
  • Responsible for Account Clearance process for region.
  • Analyses premiums and production data to determine, verify and accurately pay agent commissions and other forms of agent compensation.
  • Manages payment and reconciliation of agent appointment and renewal billings and maintaining the tracking system to ensure they are paid on time.
  • Serves as mentor and assists with training for the Distribution Administrator and Distribution Coordinator.
  • Responsible for running and approving agent background checks required for agent appointment.
  • Analyses, reviews, interprets and implements changes as relates to state licensing and appointment compliance with state regulators.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
  • Manages the annual 1099 Process and the necessary annual adjustment and balance after adjustments have been made.
  • Ensure yearly 1099’s are sent to agents with support of Finance.

 





Skills/Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or related field or equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
  • 5 years or experience in property and casualty insurance
  • Prior experience in agent contracting, compliance and compensation area preferred.

 

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss regulatory, compliance and compensation issues with the Distribution Partners and Distribution Management.
  • Possesses superior customer service skills and promotes an environment of teamwork.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to perform mathematical calculations /problems (formulas, percentages, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently.

 

*The successful candidate will initially be hired as an employee of GuideOne Insurance Company and automatically become an employee of TMG on the company's official transition date.
