Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia, seeks a full-time Instructor to teach courses in History. The successful applicant will be expected to implement course materials that support stated initiatives and use appropriate teaching techniques to provide students with the knowledge needed to achieve the learning outcomes for each course offered.

The instructor may be assigned to teach on all campus locations (Athens, Elberton, Greene, and Walton), partner high schools, and career academies.  This position reports to the Dean of General Education and Online Learning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's Degree with 18 semester hours in History
  • Master’s degree and/or graduate hours in education or secondary social sciences does not meet SACS accreditation requirements.
• Strong communication skills and work ethic
• Strong Instructional Design and Active Learning practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) Graduate hours in political science, in addition to the required History graduate hours, and/or in multiple general education areas
• Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level and experience with online teaching platforms, Blackboard preferred
• Experience working with diverse student populations, especially in technical or community colleges
• Experience with dual or joint enrollment; strong communication skills and work ethic and willingness to teach on different campuses
