Job Description

Entry to Mid-level Mechanical Engineer to join the team delivering state of the art electronic equipment to the US Navy.  Responsible for the design, development, production, integration, and life cycle support of the Torpedo Systems Group (TSG) products used aboard Navy submarines, ships, and aircraft.  The TSG designs, develops, demonstrates, produces, assembles, tests and delivers torpedo arrays and other electronic assemblies.  The TSG team works with the Navy, internal production staff and representatives from other companies to advance torpedo performance and lower production costs through engineering and automation.  Technical experience in the use and development of production automation tools, equipment, and techniques preferred but not required.

Work with production, design, system engineering, and electrical engineering teams to develop and demonstrate modern process automation technologies and methodologies used to automate specific aspects of the torpedo production process.  Research and develop product specifications and develop detailed procedures to meet these specifications using modern automation techniques and equipment.  Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to the program management and Navy customer team.

 

 





Skills/Requirements

Candidates should have technical acumen, an educational background and expertise (experience preferred) in mechanical engineering.  The ideal candidate will rapidly adapt to our engineering environment and steadily develop knowledge/expertise across the spectrum of US Navy deliverables.  Successful candidates will possess a trained eye for detail while being a reliable and committed member of the team and possess an understanding of production systems and troubleshooting skills. 

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.

B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) is required.
