Job Description

The Division of Adult Education at Athens Technical College seeks a part-time Outreach Coordinator for the Bridge to Success program.

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for both leading outreach efforts and participant recruitment, as well as coordinating the program’s Georgia BEST curriculum. A high level of independent judgment is required to effectively carry out the essential duties of the job. 

This person works cooperatively with all Adult Education and Athens Tech faculty and staff where applicable and is administratively responsible to the Vice President for Adult Education.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Identify strategies to reach potentially eligible participants (out-of-school youth) in Hart County.
  • Write and prepare recruitment materials and manage the distribution of materials to organizations in all counties in Athens Tech’s service area
  • Build and maintain partnerships with various organizations, including DFCS, K-12 schools, and other community-based organizations, to reach out-of-school youth
  • Coordinate and attend recruitment events and networking events
  • Act as the point-of-contact for potential participants eligible for the Bridge program
  • Track and update the recruitment process and outcomes to the team to ensure recruitment goals are reached
  • Provide oversight to the curriculum development process; plan and facilitate pathway development, life skills programming, and basic education programming
  • Assess participant educational and individual needs to ensure retention goals are met; develop and execute retention strategies
  • Oversee initial and ongoing training for project personnel
  • Maintain appropriate records for data tracking and fiscal reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in field related to education, workforce development, or economic development and three (3) years of experience in an educational setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; demonstrated experience in workforce preparation programming, promoting and sustaining community based relationships, and economic development initiatives; excellent verbal and written communication skills, word processing skills, and data management experience; ability to multi-task, network, and work as part of a team as well as independently.
