Job Description

Athens Technical College’s Institute for Online Training and Instructional Systems (IOTIS) has an opening for an Instructional Support Specialist/LMS Administrator to assist in creating, maintaining and facilitating web-based delivery of training modules for workers in the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS).  The work location is the Athens campus of Athens Technical College.  This position is full-time and contract funded with potential for renewal.

The Instructional Support Specialist/LMS Administrator position reports to the Project Director and is responsible for delivering and managing learning using the Learning Management System (Totara/Moodle).  The Instructional Support Specialist/LMS Administrator is responsible for a variety of administrative and technical support functions that support web-based instruction projects such as creating, testing and troubleshooting online content, quizzes and LMS settings; answering help desk questions; assisting with managing hotel reservations for students traveling for training; and assisting in quality control for online training courses.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Communications, Business, or a related field.  Strong computer/technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; customer service/communications experience; strong interpersonal skills; a clear, friendly telephone voice; must be a quick learner, be highly organized, and have a demonstrated ability to meet established deadlines.

Note:  Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in the use of a learning managment system.  Experience with either the Totara or Moodle LMS. Knowledge of instructional design tools with web-based learning.  Knowledge of Georgia DFCS is a plus.
