Job Description

Friends University invites applications for a visiting professor or a 9-month, tenure-track, faculty position in Marriage and Family Therapy (Master of Science in Family Therapy) at our Kansas City Campus.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY & THE PROGRAM

Friends University was founded in 1898 and offers a complement of traditional undergraduate majors, non-traditional adult degree-completion programs, and professional graduate programs. The Master of Science in Family Therapy (MSFT) program began in Wichita in 1986 as one of the first of two master’s degree programs to launch Friends University into graduate education and expanded to include a delivery site in the greater Kansas City area in 1996. The MSFT degree is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marital and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

The Kansas City location trains a diverse class of 24-28 students as they move through the 60-credit hour, 24-month degree in a cohort model. This diverse student population is a benefit of the program being located in the greater Kansas City metro area.

Friends University seeks to hire faculty who will embrace our mission and adhere to the University’s RISE (Respect, Inclusion, Service and Excellence) Core Values.  The mission of the University is:

Friends University, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.
