Friends University is seeking to fill two Help Desk Technician positions in Wichita Kansas.  This position provides first point of contact for Information Technology and Educational Technology customer questions, problems, and requests.  The technician will use incident management software to track, correct, and monitor problems to insure timely resolution.  The technician will resolve customer issues or escalate more complex issues to the appropriate area.

Responsibilities:

• Responds to IT related questions, problems, and requests via email, telephone, and in person.  Troubleshoots basic hardware, middleware, and software problems for computers, printers, scanners, monitors, keyboards, mice, and laptops in a predominantly Windows environment.
• Work with staff from IT Business Services, Educational Technology, Technology Infrastructure, and Administrative Computing to resolve complex IT issues.
• Documents solutions and assists in process mapping for the department.  Manages high-level network account permissions through Active Directory and system wide applications.  Assists in providing training to end-users via computer-based training on system-wide software.  Attends department meetings and assists others in Information Technology to complete tasks. 

Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Requirements:

One year experience in personal computer software and hardware troubleshooting.

An associate’s degree or certification is desired.

Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.  Ability to multitask.  Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner.  Ability to have a positive and productive working relationship with co-workers, university personnel, and students.  Working knowledge of all office equipment, including, but not limited to, computer, copier, fax machine, and telephone.
