Seeking Component Engineer to provide  technical analysis of complex system electronic components to identify high risk components, analyzes potential solutions to mitigate high risk components through replacement with equivalent parts or minor circuit modification

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Monitor systems across multiple programs to identify obsolescence and high failure risks.
• Investigate potential mitigations for obsolete and near obsolete parts.
• Report system obsolescence health statistics and maintain various obsolescence databases. 
• Support Obsolescence Management Working groups and Integrated Product teams. 
• Assist in maintain various databases used to monitor and control high risk parts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience in developing obsolescence mitigation options and reading engineering drawings and schematics. 
• Background in component engineering, including guiding component selection through circuit analysis using data sheets and component analysis tools. 
• Experience with 'data mining' solutions such as SiliconExpert, Q-Star or Parts Plus. 
• Proficient with the MS Office suite; specific competence with data analysis and manipulation using Excel and Access

Education/Experience

The ideal candidate will have their Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering/Technical field and some related experience in component engineering and developing obsolescence mitigation options. 

This position may require the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
