Job Description

Seeking a Project Manager who has direct experience with software engineering disciplines from requirements development through validation. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented about requirements management and design standards, have strong organizational and analytical skills as well as practical problem-solving and decision-skills. They should be able to demonstrate the  ability to provide effective solutions to software design and development challenges and have the ability to work well under pressure and be able to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Manage Agile software development activities of a distributed development team, while maintaining a system view
  • Work collaboratively with development team, customer representatives, and management to plan, prioritize and manage changes and upgrades to an existing application.
  • Manage and maintain project level schedule and goals within the day-to-day development, testing, and delivery preparation activities of the development team.
  • Specify, collect and analyze project metrics to support management review of project status and schedule and to maintain project level schedule and goals.
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding schedules, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Can effectively write and present complex ideas and plans in PowerPoint or a standard scheduling program
  • Manage, coordinate, and establish priorities for complete life-cycle of projects including the planning, design, programming, testing, and implementation of business solutions designed to meet requirements of various departments in the company, such as distribution, finance, and manufacturing.
  • Design project plans, which identify needs and define major tasks and milestones, based on scope, resources, budget, and personnel.
  • Determine project needs and acquires resources required for the success of the project.
  • Coordinate the development of new systems and/or applications projects, the modification of existing systems or applications, or changes in current methods or techniques.
  • Coordinate project performance with the other work of the affected department or departments.




Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 3-10 years project management experience working with software development teams.
  • Skilled in managing requirements and change requests from multiple customers.
  • Skilled in planning and executing software deliveries for multiple feature sets.
  • Experience in applying Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards.
  • Experience managing distributed development teams.
  • Experience with one or more integrated development environments such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc. preferred.
  • Experience with Versioning Control systems.
  • Experience with Agile concepts such as Scrum, Test Driven Development, and Continuous Integration preferred. 
  • PMP certification preferred.

 

Education/Experience

  • Experience with Document Management / Records Management technologies and software applications
  • B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related technical field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the a technology environment and 2-3 years of practical professional experience in project management experience

 

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
