Friends University is a Christian university of Quaker heritage in Wichita, Kansas. Friends is a vibrant private college that features a number of nationally recognized programs such as Zoo Science, Christian Spiritual Formation, Cyber Security and Fine Arts with an enrollment of approximately 800 undergraduates and 900 adult students. Friends University seeks to hire an Assistant Athletic Director who will embrace our mission and celebrate our commitment to equipping students, coaches, and staff to honor God in their personal, professional, and spiritual lives by adhering to the University’s RISE core values (Respect, Inclusion, Service and Excellence). Friends University athletic program encompasses 18 sports in NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) championship programs, the coaches, assistant coaches, athletic trainers, sports information, and student workers. The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for the management and administration of a variety of functions in the athletic department including the management of the Athletic Department Booster Club, game day management, compliance and eligibility, and facility management. Responsibilities:
Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. May include evening and/or weekend hours. |

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. Emphasis in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Sports Administration, Accounting, Student Services or related field. At least two years of administrative experience in intercollegiate athletics is required, preferably at the NAIA level. Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to work with diverse populations is required. Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner is required. Will support the Christian mission and values of Friends University and the values of the NAIA Champions of Character. Must be able to carry and/or lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Strong management and organization skills are required. The ability to compile data and prepare, write, and review reports is required; must have excellent computer skills and the ability to learn compliance systems.
