Friends University invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position in Dance to begin in fall of 2018.  This position is a temporary, full-time, nine month appointment and reports to the Chair of the Division of Fine Arts.  The ideal candidate will hold a master’s or doctoral degree in Dance or a closely related field.

EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Coordinate the ballet major
• Teach required ballet classes
• Plan, develop, and oversee a number of ballet productions throughout the academic year

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in ballet, as well as a Bachelor degree in Dance or a closely related field and relevant teaching experience.  The position is a non-tenure track, temporary, one-year visiting faculty position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The university would prefer to hire an individual who has experience in musical theater and/or other forms of dance in addition to ballet.
