Job Description

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

This position will report directly to the Quality Assurance/Progeny Machine Shop.  Candidates will be working in a fast paced and attention detailed environment.  Work is performed to validate conformance of material to be used for production or direct delivery to customers.  Most work activities shall be performed within a 4-day work week, Monday thru Thursday (2nd Shift - Noon thru 10:30).  Candidates may have occasional overtime.

Performs visual and measured inspectiosn of machined parts and fabricated parts against company controlled draawings and specifications working with close tolerances

Initiates non conformance reports for material to be out of part specifications

Perform various other functions as required to ensure the timely delivery of precision machined and fabricated parts

 

 

 

 

 





Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience in mechanical and visual inspections of parts including first article, in-process, and final inspection

Strong organizational and writing skills

Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, datasheets and written work instructions, ability to set up complex set-ups for part inspection

Proficient with complicated prints and advanced job shop mathematical calculations

Familiar with all facets of inspection techniques, and a wide range of inspection and measuring tools, and surface plate set-ups

Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with no supervision

Must be familiar wtih ISO controlled environment

Related work including calibration of inspection tools

 

Education/Experience

Minimum two year experience in machine shop/manufacturing environment

Must be able to obtain and hold a DoD Security clearance

Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

CMM, machining/fabrication experience a plus

Geometric dimensioning and tolerance experience is advantageous

This position may require the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
