This highly skilled position creates and produces publications to promote the University’s image and develops and maintains graphics and content on the University’s external website and social media sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
Publication Design – Conceptualize, write, edit and design promotional materials including brochures, print advertising, direct mail, banners, T-shirts, etc.
Image Design – Conceptualize and design promotional images including logos, graphic identifiers, etc.
Web graphics – Assist with creating and editing photos and graphics for friends.edu.
Web edits – Prepare and/or complete text edits for the web.
Other web assignments – Developing, maintaining or editing other web modules such as galleries, videos, bios, etc.
Social media – Assist with conceptualizing, creating, scheduling and posting content to official Friends University social media sites.
Photo Shoots – Assist with scheduling and coordinating.
Photography – Photograph events, people, campus.
Project Bidding – Assist with requesting, analyzing and reporting vendor bids.
Clerical/office assistance – Assist with filing, greeting office guests, etc.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience – Desktop publishing and/or graphic design experience required. Understanding of marketing and promotion preferred. Photography experience preferred. Web experience is a plus, but not required.
Interpersonal Skills – Organization, customer service and written/oral communication skills are necessary.
Design Software Knowledge – High skill-level required in the following graphic design industry software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
Office Software Knowledge – Experience required in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Hardware – Experience preferred on Macintosh platform.
Days/Hours: Desired number of hours per week are 9-11, but may vary.
