Progeny Systems Corporation is seeking a full-time Accountant experienced in government job cost accounting, processing of travel & expense reports, multistate sales and use tax, multistate property taxes, fixed assets and depreciation, 1099/1098 reporting for its Manassas, VA site.  BS degree in accounting is required with 3+ years of work experience and working knowledge of FAR/DFAR, Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR) as well as DFAS and WAWF systems are preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working experience in government contracting and cost accounting
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR, JFTR, state/local S&U and property taxes
• Purchasing cards and GL accounts reconciliations
• Ability to independently research and resolve compliance and vendor issues
• Experience with Deltek FMS preferred
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel)

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in  government contracting

This position may require the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
