Job Description

Friends University is seeking to fill Records Coordinator / Degree Auditor position in Wichita, KS. This position is responsible for degree audit and graduation operations in the Office of the Registrar, manages all functions of degree audit processing, including degree audit implementation and maintenance of Banner Degree Works™ (degree auditing system).  This position represents the Office of the University Registrar with external and internal customers under the management of the University Registrar.

Responsibilities

  • Processes all intent to and graduation documents for the University.  Performs degree audits to ensure all students meet program and degree requirements for the conferral of degrees.  Maintain Banner Degree Works™ (programs, courses, degree requirements) as well as maintenance of academic and data integrity in the student information system.  Build and maintain on-line degree auditing services for external constituents.  Works in collaboration with the Transfer Credit Coordinator in the construction and maintenance of Banner Degree Works™ as related to transfer course articulation.
  • Work with faculty and staff to resolve student degree audit issues.  Process degree exceptions with appropriate Academic personnel as necessary. 
  • Encode university and degree requirements and provide day-to-day upkeep, processing and documentation of degree program changes and ensure accuracy of data requirements and content.
  • Provide good customer service to all internal and external constituents.  Provide evaluation reports and status to the University Registrar.  Supports FERPA education and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Additional duties as needed:  provide basic office support to the university, which may include answering incoming phone calls and taking messages; producing reports; assisting with walk-in traffic, and supporting the Unit during peak times. Supports commencement activities as needed. Attends meetings and/or serves on university committees as requested or desired.  Attends training sessions required by the employer and may be tested related to the training to adequately perform the major duties of the position.
  • Other duties as assigned.




Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent higher education background required.  Bachelor degree is strongly preferred.  A combination of experience and education may be considered as equivalent to the minimum educational requirements.
  • Two to four years’ experience required in a position directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.  One to two years of experience in University Registrar or records environment highly preferred.  Experience with electronic record storage preferred.  Extensive data entry and computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products required. Experience with the Banner Student ERP highly preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.   Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner is required.  Ability to maintain knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of individuals.  Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule.  Ability to accommodate the support needs of student and faculty technology users.
