Job Description

Friends University is seeking to fill a Communications Specialist position in Wichita, KS. This positions primary responsibility is to develop, design, and manage an integrated communication plan for CBASE recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Associate VP of Marketing and Communications and the Director of Admissions to develop, implement and measure results for an annual and multi-year integrated communication strategy including, but not limited to paper, email, social media, print, video, CRM and website with specific focus on marketing of Friends University to prospective students and families by building recruitment relationships.   Track and provide ongoing analytic reports of communication results, especially electronic and web-based, to determine effectiveness.  Produce standard and non-standard reports on a regular basis to support assessment.
  • Serves as the primary marketing representative from Friends University to third party vendors such as Ruffalo Noel Levitz and others as they become relevant to ongoing operations.  Provides leadership, direction and support to the recruitment staff in the use of various communication strategies, channels and tactics.   Stays abreast of industry developments, including but not limited to changes in regulations, technology and best practices to maintain professional competence, knowledge and skills to satisfactorily carryout assigned responsibilities. 
  • Works with Campus Visit Coordinator to promote and market visit days and events.
  • Works with the Marketing and Communications office to assure compliance with appropriate protocols and adherence to University brand standards.
  • Other related duties as assigned.




Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years’ experience managing communication projects or marketing campaigns required.  Computer literacy required, with knowledge of Banner and Microsoft Office Suite software preferred.  Working knowledge of social media analytic tools. 
  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal leadership and customer service skills and ability to serve as a team player in a fast paced, goal-oriented environment. 
  • Demonstrates strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with special emphasis on writing for the web and social media.
