Progeny Systems Corp. is looking for network and cybersecurity professional to join our team. Qualified candidates will be highly motivated self-starters, able to operate effectively under pressure, as necessary, to maintain up-time of mission-critical systems.  The individual in this position will be responsible for managing and maintaining Progeny’s corporate network infrastructure. The position will be responsible for administering all firewalls and switches, maintaining VPNs and assisting projects with networking issues.  The position will also be responsible for monitoring the firewalls for and responding to security related events, as well as preparing regular security heath reports for leadership.  The corporate network infrastructure is primarily Fortinet equipment.

Progeny Systems IT is undergoing a major infrastructure improvement, with many different projects under way.  The individual will have many opportunities to be involved in improving the operation health of the corporate IT system.  The individual will responsible for modernizing Progeny’s legacy network infrastructure as well as maintaining the operational status of the system.  The individual will also be called upon to recommend and implement improvements where necessary to help maintain a secure environment

As a hands-on professional, the individual will provide end user projects and programs as well as the overall corporate network. . He/she will be called upon to ensure the network can support various enterprise systems, software, operating systems and hardware.  The individual will be part of a larger IT team but must be able to work independently.   The individual will also have the opportunity to assist in IT upgrades and refresh projects as well as assist various company projects with their IT environments.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Regular responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide tier 3 and tier 2 Helpdesk support, responding to escalated user-submitted support requests

• Manage, maintain and administer:

   o 15+ Firewalls across multiple sites

   o 50+ Switches

   o Wireless Access Points

   o Enterprise Network Management

   o Enterprise Audit Log collection and review

   o Site to Site VPNs

   o Remote Access VPNs and Appliances

• Support and improve the network infrastructure in a fast growing company

• Automate processes that enable consistent and reliable network infrastructure

• Document Network Infrastructure; provide end user training materials for network access; cross train others as needed

• Write scripts to streamline tasks (SSH, etc.)

 





Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven Experience with Fortinet Next Gen Firewall hardware
  • Proven Experience with TCP/IP v4;  IPv6 experience a plus
  • Proven Experience with Wireshark or similar tool
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 or 800-53 Security controls
  • Experience with Cybersecurity Incident prevention and response.
  • Experience with operating a company-wide Wireless Network infrastructure
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, the individual will be at the highest technical tier level and ultimately responsible for solving all system problems.
  • Must be able to work and interact with business area leaders and managers to ensure their projects and programs are receiving the expected level of support
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Experience termination fiber optics a plus

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field

• 8+ years Network Engineering or Network Administration experience

 

 

Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.  Applicant must be able to support off-hour and weekend work when necessary.
