Job Description

Support development, testing and deployment of the NITSS application. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Work as part of a development team to manage Navy Customer requirements and task backlogs using Team Foundation Server, develop software to meet requirements, perform testing, fix bugs and retest, and deploy to Government networks to support multiple shipbuilding locations.
 

 





Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with ASP.NET, VB.NET,and Java based web development.
  • Experience with n-tiered web application design.
  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Experience with JavaScript and Web Services.
  • Experience with SQL Server databases including Merge Replication is desired.  
  • Experience with development IDEs such as Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Experience with Versioning Control systems.
  • Experience with refactoring legacy software.
  • Experience with IBM MQ Series is a plus.
  • Navy experience a plus.
  • DoD Security Clearance a plus.

General Requirements

  • Familiarity with software engineering disciplines from requirements development to validation. 
  • Detail-Oriented about coding, documentation and visual/interface design standards. 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills as well as practical problem-solving. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective solutions to software development challenges.
  • Willingness to support the entire development cycle including testing and customer support

 

Education/Experience

  • B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related technical field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience.) 
  • 0-6 years of development experience.

 

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
