Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Manager to lead the AFL sales team centered in Calgary, Alberta servicing Western Canada. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager provides leadership in the development and day to day management of a direct sales team.  The Sales Manager will be responsible for proactively and systematically developing new direct business while also developing, managing and mentoring a Direct Sales team's performance. The team is responsible for home direct sales promoting TELUS products and services. This is a door to door, cold calling, direct sales team that requires a high level of energy, positive attitude and commitment to success. You must be able to work independently and stay motivated. The ideal candidate for this position will have had experience in a Direct Sales environment. Telecommunications industry experience is an asset but not required. AFL is committed to bringing top shelf talent into the market and will provide assistance to relocate and live in the markets you serve.

Skills & Requirements



  • 1+ year Sales Management experience in a Direct Sales environment.
  • Telecommunications experience is an asset.
  • Self-motivated, work well with minimal or no direct supervision.
  • Aptitude for sales; tenacious and goal oriented.
  • Aptitude for customer service; ability to thrive in direct to consumer interactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Ability to drive sales teams and proven leadership skills with effective experience in managing, mentoring, and evaluating direct reports.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods.
  • Willing to work away from home for extended periods.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
