The Senior Programmer Analyst will develop J2EE web and composite applications for Omnitracs’ Intranet, Extranet and Internet presence. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Design and build web applications for the company’s intranet, extranet and customer facing internet sites including web services and API (application programming interfaces). 
  • Write program code and scripts
  • Design database tables and schema for the application’s data storage and processing needs
  • Creates software documentation including needs analysis and specifications; provides comments on code
  • Analyzes programs/applications and provides recommendations on design, usability and implementation

 

 

Skills & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 4 years experience in broad-based Java programming with a focus on web application technologies; minimum of 1-2 years experience using Java 5+ and language features such as Generics and Annotations; minimum of 1 year experience building web applications using the Spring Framework and Spring 2.5

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

  • Working knowledge of MVC frameworks, preferably JSF/Facelets or Spring MVC
  • Strong understanding of standard web technologies such as servlets, JSP, HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML and JSON
  • Experience with building Web 2.0 applications using AJAX frameworks and libraries such as JQuery, ExtJS or YUI
  • Experience with TDD and unit test frameworks, preferably JUnit
  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD) and Agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with offshore development
  • Familiarity with user interface design and human factors
  • Knowledge of database design, data modeling and database tuning, preferably in Oracle
  • Familiarity with Maven 2.x
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal, written and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a diverse, fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Working knowledge of ORM frameworks such as Hibernate
