Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Infrastructure Services, the Director, Sales, provides senior leadership in the development and day-to-day management of ATI’s Western Canadian Direct Sales campaign.  The Director, Sales, will be responsible for proactively and systematically developing new direct business while also developing, managing, and mentoring a contracted Direct Sales team’s performance in a door to door environment.  The ideal candidate for this position will have had experience in both the Telecommunications industry and a Direct Sales environment. 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy to ensure attainment of project goals and profitability.
  • Manage the strategic direction of direct sales; lead the sales team to drive sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within assigned territory; ensure team maintains a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed penetration on selected markets.
  • Leverage available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with internal and external resources.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for all direct sales activity.
  • Provides timely feedback and reporting to senior management.
  • Creates, and reports on, tangible metrics to measure performance.
  • Establish and revise sales performance standards for continuous improvement. 
  • Research, develop, and implement market strategies to gain new market share.
  • Facilitate positive and productive relationships with all departments within the organization.
  • Train, develop, and motivate the contracted Direct Sales team to optimize customer uptake and penetration in selected markets.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience/Skills Required:

  • 5 years Sales Management experience in a Direct Sales environment.
  • Telecommunications experience is a strong asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. 
  • Exceptional analytical ability, as well as the capacity to think creatively to prove unique and innovative sales solutions.
  • Ability to drive sales teams and proven leadership skills with effective experience in training, managing, mentoring, and evaluating direct reports.

Physical Requirements

  • Normal office environment.
  • Must work extended hours as business needs dictate.  This could include occasional evenings and weekends if needed.

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
