Job Description


Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain private households or business areas in a clean and orderly manner. Consistently demonstrate the organization’s values as well as comply with Woodside Senior Communities' Code of Conduct and HIPPA policies.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Carry toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
  • Empty wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Replenish supplies, such as bathroom items; soap, toilet paper, paper towel and garbage bags.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
  • Hang draperies and dust window blinds.
  • Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides.
  • Observe precautions required to protect residents and tenants, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
  • Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware. (Oaks and Haven)
  • Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items. (Oaks and Haven)
  • Promptly report repairs to Maintenance.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Move furniture monthly for deep cleaning purposes.
  • Wash and sanitize mattresses and bed frames.
  • Care for birds including cleaning cage, feeding and special treats.
  • Follow proper cleaning policy and procedure for contaminated rooms.
  • Interact appropriately; in a friendly and professional manner with residents, family members and staff.

Education : None required 

Experience : Housekeeping in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.
