Job Description:

  • Provisioning and maintaining outside plant facilities including aerial and underground buried copper services.
  • Swapping/Installation of Optical Transport Cards in a Central Office Environment.
  • Outside plant Construction, Maintenance, and Repair as needed.
  • Installing, diagnosing and maintaining facilities (POTS) including associated components such as POTS splitters, ADSL and IPTV.
  • Involves customer contact including progress reports, discussing issues and applicable charges.
  • CPE Installation and Repair.
  • Performing wiring, high quality installation, troubleshooting and repair support for POTS, ADSL and CATV.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Skills & Requirements

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Commitment to customer service excellence.
  • 3-5 years OSP Experience.
  • 3-5 years Central Office experience.
  • Transport experience.
  • Rural Carrier experience.
  • PBX Experience.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Exhibit a strong desire to learn new technology.
  • Shift work including evenings and weekends, dependent on customer business requirements.
  • Must be able to work aloft with little or no direction.
  • Able to diagnose equipment faults and repair.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Diploma in telecommunications and/or equivalent experience.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Knowledge and experience with outside plant work an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s license.

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
