Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President of the Industrial Division, the Outside Sales Account Manager will be responsible for generating and maintaining profitable sales by providing customer service excellence, value-added service and solutions to new and existing customers. 

Essential Functions:  

  • Grow sales and gross margin within your assigned territory and account base as well as develop new account opportunities.  
  • Identify customer needs and utilize the appropriate company resources to meet them.
  • Follow-up on existing orders, process all customer inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction through effective communication.
  • Embark on value based selling.
  • Sell services and provide accurate information to the customer.
  • Maximize sales & profitability through knowledge of marketplace and presenting a competitive advantage.
  • Manage time properly, be well-planned. 
  • Work effectively with internal customers.
  • Actively support promotions.
  • Work within the policies and procedures of the company.
  •  Works with Sales/Branch manager to develop accurate annual Sales plans.

  • Proven negotiations skills such as negotiating contracts/conditions with contractors & purchasing personnel.
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience and demonstrated ability to close business.

  • Strong verbal, written & presentation skills.
  • Proven team player with branch locations, corporate, hubs, etc.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize activities and handle confidential information.
  • Proven ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess high degree of organization skills and be a self-starter.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical products and how products inter-relate.
  • Adaptability / flexibility / willing to change & adjust with business conditions.
  • Coachable & actively participates in coaching process.
  • Team player, Multi-tasker.
  •  Works with a sense of urgency.


Skills & Requirements

 Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum 4-6 years sales experience, preferably in the industrial/OEM markets.
  • EPEC certifications, a plus.  
  • Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above
