Job Description

Summary of Job Title:

e-MDs is an expanding medical software company that provides an integrated suite of clinical and financial information management solutions for physician practices and groups. We are looking for an experienced Product Specialist to join our team. Preferably this Product Specialist will also have experience working with medical practices or in a clinical setting.

The Product Specialist works at a mid-level to translate business requirements into functional requirement specification documents and functional designs for electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software (PMS) applications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Conduct meetings and discussions to achieve consensus on product features and functionality.
  • Research the existing product and customer requests to determine the desired functionality for a new product line.
  • Create wireframes of proposed UI for the assigned modules.
  • Write functional specifications based on the research and meetings done for each module assigned.
  • Conduct review sessions of functional specifications to obtain approval from all necessary parties.
  • Support the approved functional specifications through the Design, Development and QA processes.
  • Communicates with high-level personnel; Sales, Senior Management, Support, Development, QA, and external customers, including Providers, Billing Staff, CEOs, CFOs, etc.
  • Organize and prioritize many high priority items, determine strategic goals.
  • Works directly with customers, research and write specifications based on their requests.

 

Requirements

Qualifications:   

 

  • Experience defining functional software requirements is preferable, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical thinking skills
  • Good planning, organizing, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Good judgment skills
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Solid history of establishing and meeting work schedules with limited time frames and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to adhere to standards and procedures
  • Ability to organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations
  • Strong grasp of technology and how it plays a role in business processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to understand workflow within the PM system and EMR system
  • Ability to establish attainable goals, objectives, and work plans
  • Ability to multitask and adjust priorities in a busy and changing work environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with prior EMRs
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision

 

 

Education and/or Experience or both:  Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a medical practice environment is preferable, but not required or experience working in the software development life cycle.
