Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist performs various duties in areas such as employment onboarding, compensation administration, benefits administration, training/orientation, employee relations, or other special projects. May provide work direction or guidance regarding employment law or company policy to less experienced members of the human resources staff.  

The role will be based in our downtown Chicago office. Up to 40% domestic travel may be required.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Serve as a contact for employees.  Answer questions regarding benefits, policies and procedures.  Assist in resolving personnel-related problems.
  • May provide work direction or guidance regarding employment law or company policy to less experienced members of the human resources staff.
  • Perform various moderately complex duties in employment, compensation, benefits, training, and other HR-related tasks as needed.
  • Ensure that personnel policies and procedures are followed.
  • Recommend procedural changes that will improve the functioning of the personnel area.
  • Ensure timely reporting of participant data and provides guidance regarding benefit policies and direction for updating the HRIS and manages all leave and disability programs. Responsible for written and web based benefits communications during open enrollment and throughout the year.
  • Manages ADP WFN, related to all communications and including mapping requirements for employee access. Maintain and update handbook, summary plans, and other information as required. 
  • Manages and audits data and workflows in HRIS and Payroll systems. 
 

Skills & Requirements

  • BA/BS degree; Human Resources or related discipline a plus.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience working in an HR organization, with both domestic and internationally based employees.
  • Must have Software or Technology industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of integrity and ability to work with confidential information.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, time management, decision-making, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using an HRIS system (ADP WFN preferred), familiarity with payroll systems.
