Essential duties and responsibilities:

Maintenance of MnTC Property: • Oversee the housekeeping, maintenance, repair, and painting of all local property owned by Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge, including buildings (interior and exterior), lawns, sidewalks, driveways, and vehicles through daily work detail. • Advise the Director of need for major reconstruction projects and necessary building permits. • Conduct a thorough quarterly inspection of facilities for compliance with building/ health codes and document the inspection results and submit to the Director. • Maintain complete and accurate records of all maintenance performed, including work requests, supplies purchased, building maintenance completed, and other records as needed.• Ensure all MnTC vehicles receive regular maintenance and bring vehicles to the approved service provider or other specialist as needed. Vehicle maintenance should be completed by 12:00 PM daily as much as possible so as not to interfere with work study.

Supervision of Work Detail: • Review job orders to determine work priorities. • Coordinate daily work study of clients. This includes a meeting at the beginning of each work detail. • Supervise daily work crews, ensuring all clients are productive and learning skills. • Ensure that each work study crew understands and follows safe working habits, such as wearing eye protection, ear plugs, and gloves whenever necessary. • Motivate workers to achieve goals, including the documentation of clients failing to work. • Daily inspect work in process and completed work to ensure high standards are met. • Twice a month inspect the facilities to ensure work and cleanliness meet expected standards.

Equipment, Tools & Supplies: • Maintain inventory and safekeeping of tools and cleaning supplies, ensuring conformance with safety and operational standards. • Ensure that the necessary tools, equipment and supplies are readily available before each work study crew begins.

Skills & Requirements

Skills/Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that will be accepted by this organization’s vehicle insurance carrier • Ability to successfully complete background check process • 2 years experience in a facility maintenance position or equivalent • Possess knowledge of all facility systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience with job costing and inventory control • Very well organized • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines • Ability to remain on task and follow through projects to their completion • Strong leadership skills (one on one and group situations) • Documented minimum one year freedom from chemical use problems (including tobacco, drugs, alcohol)
