We are currently looking to fill a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst role.

The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst will assist Lead QA Analyst with verification of requirements, design and technical specification documentation and convert into test cases on large projects. May lead QA efforts on small to medium projects or may act as a sole QA resource on specialty projects. Participate as part of a team or may lead in the creation of test plan/strategy, traceability matrix, test-cases and execution of test cases. Proficient in defect management, risk testing and test data setup.

Experienced with the following development lifecycles:  Agile, Iterative and Waterfall.  Individuals in this job description may be assigned to initiatives that are highly complex; however, their specific assignments within the project will have a clear scope and varying level of complexity. This resource will be assigned to medium to large project sizes depending on department needs. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. May be a mentor to less skilled testers on standard QA processes. Proficient with complex and commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the quality assurance field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creates test plans, traceability matrix, creates manual test cases, estimation of QA process and holds review sessions for project team approval on QA artifacts.  Uses business requirements, technical documentation and business process documentation to elicit test cases. Create a complete coverage map of test cases for project.  May mentor less experienced testers in the preparation process.
  • Creates and participates and/or leads the effort in functional, non-functional and regression test passes for front end and back end test cases. Assists in creation of UAT test case scenarios.
  • Reports to Lead QA Analyst and/or Manager on the status of project work including review sessions, testing progress, defect management and issue management. Maintains a traceability matrix. Partners with business analysts and development resources to resolve issues and update change management logs for the project

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and applicable work experience.
  • 5+ years of QA project work experience.
  • Detailed foundation in QA standards and best practices.
  • Property/Casualty insurance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use complex and commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
  • Able to apply test methodology (complete life cycle) to project work.
  • Risk mitigation and process improvement skills preferred.
  • Detailed understanding of functional, non-functional and regression testing concepts (GUI and backend testing).
  • Ability to write and execute sql queries at a moderate level to validate data.
  • Detailed understanding in Defect Management processes.
  • Good planning and communication skills.
  • Experience working with remote teams and vendors preferred.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Results oriented, self motivated individual with a proven track record of taking ownership.
  • Good understanding of project management and software development lifecycles (Examples: Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, RUP, etc).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
  • Experience with Quality Center preferred.
