The Ballistic Missile Defense, Test & Evaluation Analyst will provide analytical and technical expertise to support activities to meet tight deadlines in a technical program office.  As part of an on-site team, the Ballistic Missile Defense, Test & Evaluation Analyst will be comfortable regularly communicating with team members and senior defense department officials.  The position requires a person with proven technical and analytical skills.


  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise regarding Aegis BMD system and Theater/Regional BMD Operations.
  • Review/input/comment on IMTP, Test Concept Sheets (TCS), schedule, and draft test plans(s), for Ground Tests (GT) and Flight Tests (FT).
  • Conduct background research and provide analytical support and recommendations for the development of data collection plans for testing the operational effectiveness and suitability.
  • Throughout the test, track and monitor the amount of data captured and compare with the data required to address test objectives, measure actual test progress versus planned test progress, and monitor actual resources expended versus planned resources expended.

Skills & Requirements

  • Previous qualification as a Surface Warfare Officer or Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (Aegis ship preferred).
  • Served as Combat Systems Maintenance Manager, or System Test Officer, or Fire Control Officer onboard an Aegis Ship.
  • At least two years of operational experience and/or Test and Evaluation Experience.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal skills.
  • Experience with Developmental Testing or Operational Testing and Evaluation.
  • Experience in developing test criteria and test documents.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Navy tactical operations in a multi-threat environment.
  • Experience with drafting briefs and documents for Senior Leadership review and approval.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work in a team environment and the ability to work independently while prioritizing and supporting multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Desired Skills and Education

  • Working knowledge of U.S. Navy models and simulations (MEDUSA, ACSIS, A-STATS, etc.) used to supplement the test and evaluation of Aegis Weapons Systems.
  • Technical undergraduate and/or graduate degree in an engineering discipline.
