Job Description

Formulates / defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems associated with computer application user interface limitations, functional operations in the form of desired results. Prepares detailed interface design specifications for application programs. Assists in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of new software requirements and enhancements of existing applications. Works with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements. Formulates / defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications design specifications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Capable of assisting all phases of software systems programming applications.

Skills & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in User Interaction Design, Human Factors, Human Computer Interactions, Industrial Design or relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a graphic, interaction or visual designer.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, prototype and document user interfaces displayed via Web browsers and tablet devices.
  • Experience using tools to create wireframes, storyboards and interactive prototypes for evaluation or usability testing.
  • Experience designing user interfaces for a variety of mediums (desktop, touch screen, mobile, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze research and test results and to make innovative and effective design changes that improve the user experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of UI design and development tools (e.g.,)

  • MS Office                            


  • Requires 7 years work experience or 5 years experience with either Bachelor's degree or relevant project management professional certification.
  • Meets a majority of the following technical requirements relevant to the system interface designer role, responsibilities, and technical system functionality and processes.
  • If required by customer, will acquire an industry recognized professional certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570.01 M Information Assurance competency accreditation within 60 days of employment.
  • Supports USAF classified systems in controlled access space on government site.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Eligible to be cleared with a DoD Security clearance of SECRET.
