ACTIVE Network is seeking an experienced, energetic and progressive Revenue Accounting Manager to lead a team in a dynamic and growing private software company.  This highly visible role will interact with team members at all levels across the organization to ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to while enabling business growth and expansion.
The ideal candidate will have proven success and knowledge in the following areas:
  • Providing technical guidance on the applicability of SOP 97-2, SAB 104, EITF 08-1, EITF 99-19 and other pronouncements relative to revenue recognition for customer and partner contracts
  • Updating and maintaining revenue recognition policies on a quarterly basis, including quantitative and qualitative analytics such as VSOE, TPE and BESP 
  • Maintaining the revenue and billing process narratives while ensuring key controls are being adhered to on a quarterly basis
  • Liaising with business analysts to advise on revenue recognition treatment in forecasts
  • Leading the daily activities within the billing and revenue teams
  • Managing a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end revenue close process, including the review of journal entries, account reconciliations and fluctuation analysis
  • Interacting with outside auditors during reviews
  • Mentoring, training and developing staff towards meeting their professional goals 
  • Developing and communicating plans to staff to meet corporate and departmental goals and objectives for the year
  • Defining requirements and driving the implementation of process and system enhancements to increase scalability and efficiency as Active expands its customer reach 

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, preferably in Accounting or closely related field
  • 3+ years managerial experience
  • CPA a plus
  • Proven experience and knowledge working with technical revenue recognition concepts
  • Ability to lead by example in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with Oracle or similar accounting software a plus
