Job Description

Vista Consulting Group (“VCG”) is the operating and consulting arm of Vista Equity Partners (www.vistaequitypartners.com), a private equity firm that specializes in acquiring software and software related companies. The VCG team works in conjunction with the Vista investment professionals and key portfolio company employees to help current and newly acquired businesses strengthen their operations through the implementation of standardized, repeatable and proven processes and methodologies.

As part of Vista Consulting Group, Learning and Development Consultant will provide support to Vista Equity Partners and their portfolio companies with respect to all stages of the learning and development function.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in either Chicago, IL or Austin, TX.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Primary duties of the role will include working with new acquisitions on the design and development of new company specific content in-line with Vista standards. 
  • Partnering with internal VCG resources to establish standards and processes related to the role. 
  • Developing tools, job aids, and templates that aid in the implementation of cross functional training.
  • Act as project manager for on-going functional program development for new and expanding companies.
  • Consult with organizational leadership in assessing and meeting specific training needs.
  • Consult with portfolio company business partners to improve learning outcomes.
Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 3-6 years of experience as a consultant, preferably learning and development/training related
  • Knowledgeable regarding adult learning styles and various educational design techniques. 
  • Strong consulting and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively consult with all levels of an organization.  
  • Must possess the ability to be both collaborative and highly self-sufficient when necessary.  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines is critical.
  • CPLP or Master Trainer Certification a plus.
  • All candidates must be willing to take Vista standard assessments as part of the recruiting process
  • 50% or more travel required, domestically and abroad.   Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards; substantial time is spent working on a computer.
