Job Description

We are seeking a high energy, motivated Logistics Data Specialist.

POSITION SUMMARY


The Logistics Data Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting the routing operations of EMN’s truck fleet and maintaining our routing software’s data.  Special attention will be given to optimizing the utilization of our routing software, vetting the accuracy of our Routing Software’s data, and maximizing the customer’s experience by ensuring the planned timely delivery of goods to our customers.


ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS

• Maintains all geocodes, delivery radii, and other customer data including Time Windows, account types, contact information, and addresses among other fields.
• Maintains Time Window Factors and Priority settings for all accounts within Roadnet.
• Maintains the Standard Routes, by correcting the sequence and removing old accounts. 
• Analyzes routes and makes recommendations to enhance routing, customer data, travel time models, service time models, and routing solutions.
• Creates new customer data files, and assigns locations their delivery days, holiday schedule delivery days, and preferred route.
• Serves as backup router (only as necessary) in which duties include:
o Creating the daily routing session, uploading all orders into routing software, and assigning orders to appropriate locations and routes.    
o Creating the next day’s truck routes by utilizing the 2 primary methods of routing – standard routing and dynamic routing. 
o Ensuring the timely delivery of goods while maintaining efficiency, reducing mileage and excess costs, and minimizing missed time windows.
o Assigning drivers and equipment to routes.
o Uploading routing solutions into our fleet management system and ensuring all routes have been uploaded with no errors. 
o Coordinating all re-ships, samples, and will calls. 
o Periodically uploading all new customer data from SAP. 
o Recognizing problems and troubleshoots issues for desired results. 
o Incorporating special delivery requests into routing solutions after receiving approval from Driver Manager, DC Manager, and/or Logistics Manager. 
o Transmiting routing solutions, especially the first route ID, to Night Warehouse Manager in a timely manner to initiate the inventory picking process.
• Assists Logistics Manager as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certifications and /or licenses:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred.
Experience:

• At least 1 - 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Routing software (Roadnet and Omnitracs) experience preferred but not necessary.
Knowledge/Skills:

• Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand information derived from documents such as company policies, operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• Ability to problem solve using sound judgement and logic.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
• Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to multi-task and work independently and/or within a team.
• Ability to maintain a high level of situational awareness and attention to detail. 
• Ability to use time management to meet deadlines.

The duties described for this position above are not physically demanding as the associate will be working in an office environment.  Given this environment, the associate will be regularly required to use a computer, type, and sit for long periods of time.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
