We are currently looking for a Laboratory Operations Associate to perform testing in our regulated clinical laboratory (CLIA/CAP/GMP/GDP). The primary role of this position is to perform daily testing of patient samples using robotic liquid handling systems. Level commensurate with experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine, repetitive laboratory testing within a regulated clinical environment.
  • Performing tasks per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Maintaining sample integrity and traceability throughout sample processing.
  • Adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Complying with Quality Assurance and Regulatory requirements as well as all laboratory safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement process such as revising and updating documents.
  • Participating in internal meetings, seminars and trainings.
  • Operating and performing quality control checks and maintenance on general and specialized laboratory equipment.
  • Miscellaneous duties in support of laboratory testing, including: general cleaning of laboratory areas and maintaining stock of supplies and reagents.

Skills & Requirements

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution is required.

Skills and experience

  • 0-5+ years of clinical laboratory-related experience.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Experience using microliter single-channel and multi-channel pipettes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working independently or with minimal supervision while following SOPs.
  • Proficient with data entry and computer applications using GDP.
  • Experience using robotic liquid handling systems is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated testing environment (CLIA/CAP/ISO/FDA) is preferred.

 

Work Environment:

  • Work is in a typical laboratory environment with Personal Protective Equipment use required.
  • The work environment may include, but is not limited to, the following hazards: chemical, electronic, mechanical, biohazard waste, and infectious material.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is regularly required to stoop, crouch, and twist. Occasionally the employee is required to kneel, squat, and sit.
