Job Description
Examines incoming raw materials to make sure they comply with product ingredient requirements & with the company’s quality standards;
Examines the ingredient quantities, the mixing procedures, e.g., mixing time & the deposit weights for each unit to assure compliance with product quality specifications;
Inspects and evaluate finished product for weight, colour, sensory, temperature, & assures that the product is being graded properly
Quarantines or Place on HOLD non-conforming products and Raw materials and participates in Risk Assessments and the disposition activities.
Assist QA Manager in the investigation of customer complaints, food safety incidents and deviations to standard.
Performs process audits on all Lines to ensure compliance to Line Operating Standards (LOS) or SOPs.
Checks packaging operation to assure correct packaging, correct labelling, correct lot coding, Correct packaging are used.
Performs & analyses results of microbiological testing on equipment & quarantines products made on equipment with non-conforming test results;
Tests water used in process, tests raw material inventory at regular intervals (e.g. bulk egg vat), tests flour using sifting test before use;
Calibrates all testing equipment at regular intervals (on site testing units, thermometers, etc.);
Checks all unbaked product by examining product samples for weight, size, colour, etc. to assure compliance with product quality specifications;
Bakes product samples for the recommended time in the test room ovens & checks the baked product for weight, colour, texture, taste etc. to assure compliance with product quality specifications.
Performs GMP and Food Safety Inspections inside and outside the facility, communicates results and follows-up completion of corrective actions.
Skills & Requirements
High school graduation;
1 year on the job quality assurance training;
Communication competence – written & oral;
Interpersonal skills; Approachable and a good listener
Organizational skills (prioritization);
Computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, Power point).
Flexibility, ability to multi-task
Decisiveness;
Energy & willingness to learn
