Job Description

At STATS we are in the process of building a world-class data science team to explore and maximize the value of the enormous amount of sports data that we have at our disposal. As a Data Scientist, you should be experienced with and passionate about using sports data, especially fine-grained spatiotemporal and vision data. The role will be a cross of research and development, so you should be able to create new ideas, yet disciplined and focused enough to develop these ideas into products. A core element of the data science team will be centered on interactive machine learning/human-centered computing, so creating interactive and intuitive interfaces should excite you. You are able to both engage with domain experts as well as senior leaders and engineers to effectively deliver interpretable results. You are an independent thinker with a high degree of rigor, organization, and discipline to get things done. You are excited by the idea of dealing with enormous amounts of unstructured data, and developing solutions in a distributed setting.

You will have the opportunity to impact the business in a meaningful way. You will have the freedom to innovate, solve interesting problems and influence in a fast paced, exciting environment. You will work with smart people who love to solve hard problems, and who not only expect, but also foster high performance. You will have the rare opportunity to be part of a new and exciting data science group which aims to deliver new technologies to the sports world.
