Job Description

Position Purpose and Impact

  • As Aspira’s Solution division Senior Technical Project Manager, you will lead complex, high-impact technical projects across multiple departments, driving successful delivery of software development, infrastructure upgrades, and enterprise-wide technology initiatives. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to play a key role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to the strategic success of our organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership and Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of critical technical projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, and develop detailed project plans to guide project execution.
  • Team Management: Direct and coordinate the work of project teams, including internal staff, contractors, and vendors. Provide mentorship and support to junior project managers and other team members. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management, IT, and business unit leaders. Ensure transparent communication and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and dependencies associated with project initiatives. Develop risk mitigation and contingency plans to manage issues as they arise.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the project management process, tools, and standards. Advocate for best practices in project management across the organization. Drive retrospectives, team metrics, and provide detailed analysis to help teams improve, remove slow-downs, and enable efficient performance.
  • Promote Aspira policies and procedures, the quality of its products and reputation, and consistently supports compliance and all applicable initiatives by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity.
  • Support the Solutions division by participating in relevant projects and competing other duties as assigned.

A Technical Project Manager should possess strong analytical skills and the creativity to develop innovative solutions to technical issues.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: The software industry is dynamic and constantly evolving, requiring Technical Project Managers to adapt to changes in technology, project requirements, and priorities. Being flexible and adaptable allows them to adjust plans, strategies, and resources as needed to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: In a technical environment, even minor errors or oversights can have significant implications for project outcomes. A Technical Project Manager should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in planning, execution, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability in project deliverables.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of project management experience in a technical environment, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in managing software development, IT infrastructure, or technology integration projects.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent desired.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as JIRA, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional project teams and driving project delivery in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Desired Hardware and Software Competency

  •  Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Mastery of project management software such as JIRA, Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project is essential for planning, tracking, and managing project tasks, timelines, and resources efficiently.
  • Understanding of Software Development Processes: Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall is crucial for effectively managing software projects and ensuring alignment with development team processes.
  • Technical Acumen: A strong understanding of software development technologies, languages, and frameworks allows the Technical Project Manager to communicate effectively with development teams, understand technical requirements, and make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Microsoft Excel Advanced Level: Proficient with v-lookups, bar/line chart comprehension, macros, and formulas, with a skillset to utilize spreadsheets, graphing, calculations, data automation extremely beneficial.
  • Microsoft Suites Intermediate to advanced Level: Professional usage of suites in an office setting, with a desired advance level skills in excel encompassing proficiency in complex functions, data analysis, and automation techniques.

  • Visual Acuity: Close visual acuity to read and analyze data on a computer monitor.
  • Hearing Ability: Must be able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through electronic media.
  • Manual Dexterity: Operation of a phone, keyboard, mouse, and general office equipment including printers, or fax machines.
  • Repetitive Motion: Regular and consistent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and other computer-related tasks.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies and materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Sedentary Work and Body Position: The majority of work is performed while stationary or sitting at a desk or computer workstation. Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer are required. The ability to maintain the required body positions for extended periods, including sitting and using a computer is required. A mobility ability to move within an office setting as well as depart and return to a workstation punctually for assigned breaks or meal periods is required.
