Job Description

Position Overview:

As Director of Engineering, you are strong techno managerial leaders, you will have ownership of the technical design, systems analysis, coding, automated unit testing and integration. You will also liaise with the Product Owner, Architects, software engineers/developers and end-users of Naviga regarding the development and implementation of product lines using various technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • To lead and strengthen the Software Engineering and delivery of one of the key product lines of Naviga.
  • To manage a team of Engineering Leads and Architects working on both front-end and back-end services.
  • To own and drive the engineering roadmap and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • This role will lead teams that design, develop and manage new features and systems deployed.
  • To lead in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional team, work closely with product management, actively participate in recruitment of candidates for senior technical positions and mentor technical staff.
  • To Leverage technology know-how to drive the product /project delivery, take technology decisions and control the overall product quality.
  • To drive product engineering lifecycle and roadmap, high quality, and timely deliveries.
  • To drive innovation in delivery and validation via the respective Centers of Excellence
  • To champion and strengthen Software Engineering processes and practices. Coordinate project governance meetings, project health checks, phase gate reviews, post project reviews and project level workshops.
  • To produce periodic and ad-hoc reports for all stakeholders including leadership to monitor and ensure that projects comply with the governance framework.
  • To play a proactive role in the promotion of Software development, design methods and standards, implementation of good project management practice and the monitoring of projects
  • Strong understanding of Architecture Migrations, Digital journey, Cloud enablement, performance engineering, Devops etc.

Education, Experience, and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Computer Science with 15+ years’ experience in working with Software Enterprise Product companies.
  • Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles in software product development team.
  • Exposure to technologies such as Java, Python,.net_Microsoft Tech stack, Cloud Technologies like : AWS/Azure will be preferred.
  • Rich Hands-on experience in planning, tracking, and delivering complex product features.
  • Strong experience in managing multiple stakeholders (Engineering,Sr Leadership, Clients, Support and Services)
  • Technology evangelist with a flair for establishing and improving Software Engineering processes.
  • Keen to acquire the domain and product knowledge and develop functional understanding of Naviga offerings.
  • Deep technical expertise to understand the product design, provide technical inputs to the team, understanding of NFRs.
  • Experience in building High Performance Engineering Teams.
  • Experience in Secure Software development lifecycle, Go live execution and security best practices.
  • Proven expertise in the following process areas:

         o Enterprise Software Development Methodologies (Waterfall/ Agile)

         o Software Architecture around Estimation techniques

         o Project Planning using Jira and Risk Management

         o Exposure to CMMi, ITIL and Agile standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
